We recently had an interesting experience helping a touring musician on short-notice get over four tons of equipment separated and safely to four different locations in Canada and the US on deadline.
A couple of weeks ago we received a call on a Thursday afternoon from the tour manager of Datsik, a dubstep (if you are under 25 you’ll need to look the word up) DJ who was ending a tour at the Rex Theater in Pittsburgh on the coming Saturday evening. Here was his mission brief: pick-up 8200 lbs of expensive music and sound equipment at 2 AM on Sunday morning, separate it into four shipments, safely pack each, and have two of the shipments arrive on a tight deadline in Indianapolis and New York City the coming Wednesday. Mission results: we successfully navigated the mob scene that is the Southside bar district on Saturday night / Sunday morning and picked-up the equipment. All critical shipments departed our warehouse on Monday and safely arrived on schedule on Wednesday. Ain’t datsik!
